Best of 2020: Families

Capturing families has kind of crept up on me these past few years. To be honest, I’ve been flirting with the idea of doing more family shoots this next year. I’ve always specialized in weddings and seniors, but as I get older and my family gets bigger, I’ve realized just how special and important family shoots are.

First of all, parenting is hard. Like really hard. I believe it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but at the very same time, it has been the very best thing I’ve ever done too. We live and breathe family life, so why not take a few minutes to capture it in photographs? That’s why I’ve decided that this year I will be making it a priority to take on more family shoots! And I also have a little surprise for my families—I’ll be adding some video to their full family session so they can have just one more way to enjoy that special time in their life. I also have a brand new KV Family Style Guide to enjoy!! I am SO excited for both of these!

This blog is dedicated to the glue of families: Mamas. Mama…you know that the nights are long, but the years are short. The constantly cold coffees and messy house are just part of the experience of motherhood. You yearn for the day of no car seats or diapers, then you blink and they begin a world of individualism and beginning a life of their own. Those dimples in your children’s hands and their toothless grins won’t last forever. The time is now. Find a family photographer and freeze those memories in time forever! You’ll never regret it!
