Missouri River Maternity Session

I remember my first phone call with Crystal. She called me early this summer to schedule her fall maternity session. The longer we chatted on the phone, the more I felt like we were good friends that hadn’t spoken to each other for a few years and our conversation just picked up from where it left off. She and I share a background of teaching and of becoming a #boymom (Lord help her…), so I felt like were instant friends when we met in the parking lot. I love it when shoots start off like this!

We spent the last few weeks trying to figure out logistics and locations for her shoot, and because I survived getting my family photos done (my kids were a.w.f.u.l….that’s a whole other blog post) in the same area, I thought I’d try it out myself for their maternity shoot. Montana’s Missouri River did not disappoint!

While on the shoot, I realized these two were from the east coast, and after being introduced by his sister (and obviously a killer match-maker!) they married each other and looked west for their future. Luke talked her into moving to Montana and I thought this scenic river spot was pretty fitting because the daddy-to-be makes a living on guiding fishing tours for visitors of our great state. I have a sneaky suspicion that he will be taking his sweet little boy on many exciting adventures along its shores. Congrats Crystal and Luke!! Can’t wait to meet him in a few short weeks!
