Where do I even begin? This sweet boy entered the world during a pandemic, and was shortly diagnosed with a reality no parent can bear. But you know what? He. Is. Perfect. I mean, I cried as I drove away perfect. In every since of the word, he has captivated strangers, stole the hearts of many, and surely has brought so much love to his family.
I’ve known Tia and Bo for nearly 8 years, and to be trusted to capture this vulnerable story and time in their life has left me in awe. They are so strong. So joyful. Baby Oryn has brought them closer than ever before, and like Tia said, “He has brought so much love and joy to our lives— I can’t let the fear and the not wanting his diagnosis to be true to get in the way of that. His story and birth deserves to be celebrated.”
And that couldn’t be any more true.
This was by far the most meaningful, touching, and life-changing newborn shoot I’ve ever done, or probably will ever do. I parked a block away before I started this shoot to take a moment to pray that God would bless this sweet family, and that my images could do Baby Oryn justice of what he means to so many people.
When his mama saw these images for the first time she wrote to me, “You’ve captured his soul.”
That’s exactly what I aimed to do. I love him already! He will move mountains!
