Montana Spring Lifestyle Session

The earthy tones in this lifestyle newborn session fit the subjects. The first time I met Shelby and Cody was in their beautiful Helena home on the morning of their newborn shoot. They were the most down-to-earth people who made me feel instantly comfortable with their kind and relaxed demeanor. I teased them that they were already professional parents…they looked and acted the part of seasoned parents! Even with little sleep the night before, they both had smiles on their faces and were excited to make some memories with their sweet baby, Hudson.

Now, the first time I saw Hudson, his eyes were wide open taking in the world around him (as much as three feet away newborn eyes can see anyway). He was all about observing throughout the entire shoot–which I think is pretty astounding! Not. One. Peep. Nope. He never cried. All 6 lbs of him didn’t want to miss a thing.

Lifestyle newborn shoots have become my jam lately. I always pictured myself as solely a “wedding photographer” or a “senior photographer”. Never in my wildest dreams did I picture myself lightly knocking on doors and stepping into stranger’s homes to document new life. But boy oh boy, am I glad I took the leap. It’s a world I never thought I’d enter, but I feel that it has been an amazing way to give back to parents who so graciously give me the honor to capture their sweet new season in life.

So, cheers Shelby and Cody. He is perfect.
