Montana Morning Senior Shoot

One day I will wonder how I ever did what I do now. I will wonder, “How did I possibly juggle raising a three-year-old and a one-year-old (BOYS–these things are harder than girls–I’m convinced), be a wife, be a friend, wash the laundry, do the dishes, clean the house, pay the bills, run a photography business…and brush my teeth?!” Oh and did I mention, this is not even counting my “real job”–being a full time teacher for the school district? Hehhh…

Here is what a day in my life looks like:

6-6:30 a.m. Wake up call from Boy A or Boy B…Just like clock work…every. single. day.

6:30-7:00 a.m. Try to fumble to the Keurig, find the biggest coffee cup I can and make a cup of black coffee.

7:00-7:30 a.m. Change baby’s diaper, let dog out, try to entertain said baby, so that the other child can sleep AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.

7:30-8:00 a.m. Yep. The other one wakes up. Listen to them fight and cry over wanting the same toy. I try to answer emails during this chaos.

8:00-8:30 a.m. Breakfast. Change another diaper. Usually cheerios and fruit for the boys…I’ll settle for my coffee I’ve re-heated 3 times by now.

8:30-9:00 a.m. I try to “get decent”…aka…Possibly take a shower if I am lucky. (Never alone, because I can’t trust my oldest with my youngest).

9:00-11:00 a.m. Usually this is me trying to entertain kids by going to various parks for AS LONG AS POSSIBLE to kill time until nap time.

11:00-1:00 p.m. Nap time **********Enter a choir of angels singing************ I edit as much as I can during this blessed time.

1:00-2:00 p.m. Change another diaper. Lunch time for both boys…I usually steal bites of their food realizing that I never got any breakfast…

2:00-5:00 p.m. Back to the parks, pools, museums, or rivers to keep these boys busy so they get AS TIRED AS POSSIBLE. Change another diaper.

5:00-6:00 p.m. Cook (I use this term loosely) and serve dinner to 2 boys, 1 husband, and 1 dog.

6:00-7:00 p.m. Bed time routine, lots of tears, squeezing into pajamas, cleaning up the pandemonium of our house.

7:00-8:00 p.m. Hopefully get one down to sleep and work on starting the same routine with the older one.

8:00-9:00 p.m. Read 188 pages of Thomas’ Busy Day…Possibly skipping a few pages when he isn’t looking.

9:00-10:00 p.m. Say, “Hi!” to my husband.

10:00-12:00 p.m. Edit, edit, edit, and edit. Oh, and possibly take a bath.

And people give me a hard time about forgetting where I put my keys…

Meet this SWEET, SWEET, SWEET KV Senior Spokesmodel who resheduled her shoot to make it easier on my schedule: Lauren Helbling. She astounds me already–and she hasn’t even left high school yet! I can’t wait to see what her life holds for her!
