When she took the microphone, she looked at him with pure adoration. With the microphone in her hands, she thanked her new husband’s parents for raising such an amazing man that she had wed just hours before. She then looked back to her husband and explained in front of 300 guests how much she loved and respected him. Everyone in the Radisson grand ballroom could feel the heartfelt words she spoke through her shining smile. He looked down at his new bride with a gleaming smile and gently grabbed the mic from her and turned to his left to look at her parents sitting at the end of the head table. Again, with sincere gratitude he pledged that his life’s mission would be to make her the happiest girl on earth.
As I stood there with my camera in hand, it occurred to me that this was quite the moment not only in their lives but their parent’s lives as well. I cannot think of a more touching moment in a parent’s life that when a spouse thanks them for making the person that they married. What higher compliment could a parent get? With my heart full, I raised my camera to my eye and reveled in the moment, soaking in the pure life milestone that was unfolding before my eyes.
Jeff & Courtney, I have no words. You two made me realize how much love and respect is evident in your relationship and I’m so thankful you wanted me to be a part of your day. It’s not every day that I get to capture a couple as kind and genuine as you two are. I know that whatever life brings you, you will both hold tight onto each other and build each other up, just as you have done since the day you met. Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. Baldwin!
