MacDonald Pass Engagement Shoot

Engagement

July 8, 2024

Chelsi and Dan invited me up to a mutual friend’s home to start their engagement session. Having been there before, I was thrilled because I knew how beautiful their shoot was going to be.

The evening was warm with no wind, a fine change from the tumultuous weather we have had in Montana this spring and early summer. I was thankful for that, because I have had a record number of reschedules in the past two months, which makes me have jam-packed weeks (that definitely weren’t planned that way), but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

Luckily, Chelsi and Dan’s night was absolute perfection. We ended the night at the top of the Continental Divide on MacDonald Pass right outside of Helena. Every single time I head up there to shoot—it’s jaw-dropping gorgeous—but it is always windy. To our surprise there was no wind to fight, and it was warm enough for the birds and ground squirrels to serenade us throughout our shoot.

These top-of-the-mountain shots are some of my all-time favorite engagement session images, and I feel so thankful to have had the opportunity to share it with Chelsi & Dan!

Congrats you two! I cannot wait to hang out with you two again on your wedding day!
