Photographing another photographer is always a unique experience—there’s a special kind of trust involved when someone who knows the ins and outs of cameras and posing chooses you to capture their love story. That’s exactly what made Cameo and Bryant’s engagement session so special. Cameo, a talented photographer herself, completely trusted me when I asked them to meet me at one of the busiest spots in downtown Helena to kick off their shoot.
Downtown Helena can be a little chaotic—cars, people, unpredictable lighting—but it’s also full of character, charm, and pockets of magic if you know where to look. I’m so thankful when clients trust my vision, because that’s when the real creativity starts to flow. Instead of worrying about the location or logistics, we got to focus on them—on real smiles, real connection, and moments that felt true to who they are as a couple.
And wow, did they show up with the best energy! Bryant and Cameo were all smiles, totally in sync with each other, and just fun to be around. From the city’s bustle to the peaceful base of Mount Helena, they kept the good vibes going the entire time. We wrapped up the session chasing the last light of day, letting the golden glow of sunset wrap around them as they shared a few quiet, joyful moments on the trail. It was one of those evenings where everything just clicked.
I left this session feeling incredibly grateful—not just for the beautiful images we created, but for the reminder of how lucky I am to work with people who trust the process and make room for creativity. Bryant and Cameo made this shoot feel more like hanging out with old friends than anything else, and I couldn’t be more excited to photograph their wedding next August!
