Let me tell you about one of my absolute favorite parts of being a photographer: engagement sessions! They’re like the warm-up act before the main event—just a sneak peek into the magic of love. And speaking of magic, I recently had the joy of shooting an engagement session with the lovely Mahri and Cooper, who have been rocking their love story for a solid seven years! 🎉❤️
From the moment I met Mahri (back at her senior session!) and Cooper, I knew I was in for a treat for their engagement sesion. These two are so effortlessly in love that it practically radiates off them. You know that kind of couple where you can feel the chemistry just by being in the same room? Yup, that’s them. Whether it was the way Mahri’s eyes sparkled when she looked at Cooper or the way he could make her laugh in an instant, it was clear: they were meant to be together.
We decided to meet at the walking mall in their home town of Helena, MT. The kind of place that looks like it’s straight out of a romantic movie. The air was warm and calm, and I was practically salivating at the thought of all the beautiful shots we could get. Honestly, I think I was more excited than they were!
As we started the session, it felt like we were just hanging out as friends. I guided them through some poses, but honestly, I spent half the time just letting them be themselves. There’s something so special about letting love shine through the lens. Cooper would be playful with Mahri and the look on her face was priceless!
As the sun began to set, we found the perfect golden hour light, and it was pure magic. I just let them be, capturing those little moments that truly represent their relationship: the laughter, the glances, the quiet moments of connection.
By the end of the session, I was buzzing with excitement, and I think Mahri and Cooper were too. We laughed about the silly moments, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the chance to capture such genuine love. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do.
