Champagne and a sunset? Check! It didn’t take long for me to recognize that these two are exactly my type of humans. You know the ones. They are immediately fun to be around, easy to talk to, and up for anything. And by anything, I mean willing to go off the plan and take pictures in a random field and pop a champagne bottle in the middle of the woods–all not part of the original plan. But, by their surprised smiles, I knew they’d be up for the challenge!
I can’t say that I am surprised at their easy-going attitudes, because these two are getting married on a ski slope, surrounded by wildflowers and friends on the summer solstice in late June of this year. Does that not sound like a dream?! #dreamkvbrideandgroom
Both Corie and Mason share a love for skiing and the great outdoors. The environment holds a special part of their lives and I couldn’t think of a better venue to start their journey as husband and wife than the The Great Divide Ski Area.
Once in awhile I will get a wild hair and suggest a new spot during a shoot, always basing the decision on the light. When a I see golden light, I can’t help myself! Half way through the shoot, we were driving to our second location, and I looked at the sky realizing the sun was going to peek through the clouds for a few precious minutes. Knowing that we were heading into the woods for our last location, I was worried we wouldn’t have the same golden light, so I pulled over on a dusty road and pointed at the field with a, “Pretty please?!” look on my face. Corie and Mason didn’t even bat an eye.
Thanks for making my sunset champagne engagement shoot a reality you two! You’re the best! Can’t wait to celebrate you two on the longest day of the year!
