Thankfulness

Personal

November 28, 2019

I love Thanksgiving and everything that surrounds this time of year. Gratitude. Thankfulness. Blessings. This time of year is good for the soul. I love that the weather turns cold and makes our hearts warm up. I always slow down this time of year and I am thankful for that in itself. I need it. I yearn for this time all year, and when it is here, I try and make the most of it. Here are the top things (in no particular order) I am thankful for in my life this past year. I have a feeling that this blog will be a start of something I do yearly. It will be good for my soul!

My Faith

I have grown so much this year in my faith. I have purposely carved out time for prayer and have spent many hours studying books and the bible about who Jesus really was and how he wants us to live our lives on this earth. I think it’s fascinating. How could such an incredible God love a sinner like me? His love endures forever. He just wants us to grow close to Him and for us to love one another like he did us. I can’t wait to see how my love for him grows over my life. I have seen and experienced his grace, and I can’t imagine my life without the blessings he has given me.

My Family

One of the last things my mom ever said to me was, “Family is the only thing that matters.” So, so true. After God, my family is THE most important thing to me. It is incredible that I have been so blessed with two beautiful sons that make me smile everyday. My husband and I are incredibly blessed to be chosen to be their parents, even if they can have hard days filled with tears and stubbornness. Would I trade it for the world? Never. They are my eternal little bundles of hope that I will try and raise to be kind and gentle souls that can be great leaders of the future.

My Blessings

From my beautiful home, to my paid-off car, to the running CLEAN water I use daily–it’s beyond the point of being blessed…more like spoiled. CLEAN water, guys. Like I move a tap and it comes out in abundance. Did you know that 663 Million people still don’t have clean drinking water readily at their fingertips (THIRST). Check this book out guys. It will change your life! KVP clients help me donate to this incredible cause monthly. I am thankful through my travels that I have more of an awareness of the simple blessings in life. I encourage you to look around for these hidden gems! Sometimes they are the best! Did I mention I have some of the BEST friends in the world?! Can’t forget them! They have always been there for me and I don’t know whatI would do without them!

My Work

Guys. Seriously–this year was INCREDIBLE for my business. KVP blossomed this year and it was breath-taking to say the least. On a daily basis I have to pinch myself to remind myself how far I have come over the past ten years of running a business. Throughout this job I have met SO many incredible people in this journey behind a lens, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I genuinely feel that I have found one of my major purposes God has given me in this life. Knowing this, I know he has blessed me with a talent so that I would in turn use it to share with others and to share his amazing grace with those I encounter along the way. It’s seriously the best job in the world. For that I am so grateful.

My Clients

Spoiler alert: I don’t think my clients know how much they give me life. In fact, I think they have no clue what their kind words do for my soul. See, my love language is “Words of Affirmation (Chapman–Another great book!!). When I get to spend time getting to know each and every one of my sweet clients, it’s like perpetually meeting new friends. How cool is that?! Then the best part is when I see them out and about, or I get to watch them enjoy the first few years of college, or get engaged, or have babies. It’s like they are all family too. I feel like at any moment I could call any of them and they would be right there for me–and I hope they know I would do the same.

Well, there you have it! My 2019 Thankfulness list! Until next year’s list!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

XOXO
