Carroll Chapel Wedding

Some wedding days are remembered for the weather, and Emily and Hunter’s July wedding will certainly be one of those days! After photographing weddings for nearly twenty years, I can honestly say this was one of the hottest wedding days I’ve ever experienced. The summer sun was relentless, and the temperatures seemed to climb higher with every passing hour. But if you asked anyone who was there, they would tell you the heat never stood a chance against the joy that filled the day.

From the moment the morning began, Emily and Hunter wore smiles that never faded. They didn’t let the soaring temperatures distract them from what truly mattered—celebrating the beginning of their marriage surrounded by the people they love most. Their positive attitudes set the tone for the entire day, and their family and friends followed right along, embracing every moment with excitement, laughter, and genuine happiness.

One of the most meaningful parts of their wedding was the location they chose. Emily and Hunter’s love story first began on the beautiful campus of Carroll College, making it incredibly special that they returned there to exchange their vows. There is something so beautiful about saying “I do” in the place where your journey together first started. Every corner of the campus held memories of their dating years, and now it will forever hold the memory of the day they became husband and wife.

As I watched the ceremony unfold, it was impossible not to notice how naturally these two families came together. Weddings are about so much more than joining two people—they are about joining two families, creating new traditions, and building lifelong relationships. Throughout the day, I saw hugs shared between relatives meeting for the first time, joyful conversations, heartfelt tears, and plenty of laughter. It was such a beautiful reminder of how love has a way of bringing people together.

Even in the intense summer heat, guests filled the dance floor, celebrated every special moment, and cheered Emily and Hunter on with endless enthusiasm. No one let the weather steal even a second of the joy that surrounded this incredible couple. Instead, everyone focused on making memories that will last a lifetime.

As a photographer, these are the weddings I treasure most. Beautiful details and stunning venues are always wonderful, but what stays with me are the authentic moments—the joyful tears, the genuine laughter, the quiet glances between a bride and groom, and the overwhelming love that surrounds them. Emily and Hunter’s wedding was full of those moments from beginning to end.
